Our Story Pawz Expressions is a story about love and relationships and how our furry little friends can change our lives. We make life-changing decisions for a variety of reasons, sometimes without even realizing just how life-changing they will be. In October of 2006 I fell in love with a 13 week-old Yorkie named Louie. Three months later came Ruby Sue, Yorkie number two, and the rest, as they say, is history. After eight years of the fast-paced corporate lifestyle I got thinking about my life and where I was going. It wasn't an easy decision to make but in my heart I knew it was time to close this chapter of my life and move onto something fresh and new—a living, breathing, barking adventure! My initial goal was to give myself some room to exhale and to spend time with my furry children, friends, and family. However, my Type-A personality kicked in and my creativity began to stir. Noticing all of the cute designer dog clothes and accessories available—dog couture—I began designing fashionable clothing for the chic pet lover. After all, why should our pets grab all the attention? Women can look fabulous too while celebrating their love for animals! Fashion, what? Retail, what? This was never part of my original plan. (I had spent eight years in the recruiting business prior to this journey.) However, once I started the design process my entrepreneurial spirit awakened and said, "Why not!" In that moment Pawz Expressions was born! Since the creation of Pawz Expressions many doors have opened for me. My line has been featured in many charity events supporting different organizations passionate about the celebration and protection of animals. I am personally honored to be associated with organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and serve as an Executive Committee member of the Genesis Awards. Furthermore, I am now able to give back to a community that has given so much to me. I feel extremely blessed that I am able to donate a portion of the proceeds to local nonprofit organizations which support the welfare of animals! Woof! |
